QuestLife — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the QuestLife mobile application (“QuestLife”, the “App”, “we”, “us”), a gamified habit-tracking game developed and operated by an independent developer. By creating an account or using QuestLife you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who May Use QuestLife

• You must be at least 13 years old to use QuestLife. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16 years old, or have verifiable consent from a parent or guardian, whichever your country's law requires.
• You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to abuse promotions, codes, or rewards is not allowed.

2. Your Licence to Use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use QuestLife on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and to Google Play's terms. All rights not expressly granted remain with us.

3. Virtual Items & Currency

QuestLife contains virtual items and currencies — including coins, shards, diamonds, potions, character classes, and pet companions (“Virtual Items”). You agree that:

• Virtual Items are licensed to you, not sold. You receive a limited licence to use them inside the App; you do not own them and they are not your property.
• Virtual Items have no real-world monetary value. They cannot be exchanged, redeemed, sold, or transferred for real money, goods, or anything of value outside the App. Purchases are one-directional: real money can buy diamonds, but diamonds can never be converted back to money.
• Virtual Items are non-transferable between accounts and may not be sold or traded to other users.
• We may modify, rebalance, or discontinue Virtual Items and game features at any time to keep the game fair and fun. Where reasonably possible we will avoid materially devaluing items you paid for.
• Except where required by applicable law (or by Google Play's refund policy), purchases of Virtual Items are final and non-refundable.

4. Purchases & Subscriptions

Billing

All purchases — diamond packs and the QuestLife Plus subscription — are processed by Google Play. Your payment details are handled by Google, not us. Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region; applicable taxes are handled by Google Play.

QuestLife Plus (subscription)

• Plus is an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual). It renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
• You can cancel anytime in your Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Plus benefits until the end of the period already paid.
• The monthly diamond stipend included with Plus is granted while your subscription is active and does not accumulate retroactively for lapsed periods.
• If we change subscription pricing, the change applies from your next renewal, and Google Play will notify you in accordance with its policies.

Right of withdrawal (EU/UK consumers)

If you are an EU/UK consumer, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases. By purchasing Virtual Items or starting a Plus subscription, you expressly request immediate delivery of the digital content and acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal once the content is delivered (e.g. diamonds credited or Plus features activated), to the extent permitted by law. Statutory rights that cannot be waived are unaffected. Refund requests are handled through Google Play's refund process.

Promo & gift codes

Redeem codes are promotional, have no cash value, may be limited in number or time, may be redeemed once per account, and may be revoked if obtained or used fraudulently.

5. Fair Play & Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• cheat, exploit bugs, or manipulate the App, its API, or its database to gain currency, items, progress, or entitlements you have not legitimately earned or purchased;
• use bots, scripts, automation, or modified clients;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App except where the law expressly permits it;
• abuse promotions or codes (including via multiple accounts);
• choose a username that is offensive, impersonates someone else, or infringes anyone's rights;
• use the App for any unlawful purpose, or interfere with the service or other users.

We may remove improperly obtained items or currency, roll back affected progress, and suspend or terminate accounts involved in cheating, fraud, or abuse.

6. Your Content

You keep ownership of the content you enter into QuestLife (such as your habit names, descriptions, and templates). You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to operate the App for you. Do not enter content that is unlawful or infringes others' rights.

7. Our Content & Intellectual Property

The App — including its code, design, game mechanics, text, and audiovisual content — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Character and asset artwork includes works licensed from third parties (e.g. craftpix.net) and open-source components; see the Licences & Attributions page. You may not extract, copy, or redistribute App assets outside the App.

8. Not Medical or Professional Advice

QuestLife is a motivational game. Quests, challenges, and suggestions (e.g. exercise, diet, sleep, or focus prompts) are generic ideas for self-improvement, not medical, psychological, fitness, or other professional advice. Use your own judgment and consult a professional before making health decisions. You take part in any physical activity at your own risk.

9. Availability, Changes & Updates

• We provide QuestLife free of a general fee, with optional purchases. We work hard to keep it available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation.
• We may update, change, or discontinue features (including via over-the-air updates) at any time. If we ever discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable advance notice where practicable.
• We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice in the App or by other reasonable means; continuing to use QuestLife after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Account Termination

• By you: you can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete Account (or via our web deletion page). Deletion is permanent and removes your progress and Virtual Items; it does not entitle you to a refund.
• By us: we may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these Terms (including cheating or fraud), with notice where required by law. Where the breach is severe or repeated, terminated accounts forfeit their Virtual Items to the extent permitted by law.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuestLife is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) €50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, progress, or Virtual Items.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer's country of residence, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
